GHS PTO

The Griswold High School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has the mission to enhance and support the educational experience at Griswold High School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement, and to improve the environment at Griswold High School through volunteer and financial support.
The GHS PTO started up again in 2019 after a 20-year hiatus. Please join us for a meeting and make your mark!
Who can join the PTO?
Parents/Guardians of a GHS Student, GHS Staff, and Griswold Community Members are welcome to join. There are no membership dues.
The Parent/Teacher Organization is a great way to make friends and become more involved with your child’s school community! There are many great opportunities for you and your family to get involved.
When does the PTO meet?
We meet once per month on the second Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Meeting times are 4:00 p.m. Attend virtually on Google Meet! Links are shared on the GHS PTO website and Facebook page.
Your participation is always welcome, and we value any feedback, ideas, and suggestions you may have.
What does the PTO do at GHS?
The PTO is dedicated to creating a positive and engaging environment for everyone at Griswold High School. Through their fundraising efforts, they support students, teachers, and the school with activities such as teacher appreciation dinners, school dances, senior scholarships, financial support for educational initiatives, and so much more! We welcome parents, guardians, staff, and community members to join and contribute as they can.
The GHS PTO works year-round to support both our students and staff:
- Stocking the staff lounge throughout the year
- Providing teacher dinners during Fall and Winter conferences
- Hosting the annual Holiday Bazaar in December
- Bunny Hunt
- Organizing the Winter Ball for students in January
- Handing out treats and surprises for students throughout the year
- Upgrading the Staff Lounge
- Sponsoring a senior event and awarding two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors
To make all this possible, the PTO runs several fundraisers, such as:
- Paint Your Spot for Seniors
- Holiday Bazaar vendor fees and raffles
- Custom Ugly Holiday Sweaters in October
- Graduation Lawn Signs in April
- Amazon Wishlists to help cover supply costs
- Year-round Spirit wear Merch Shop
